It's a plastic enclusure that uses a centronix connector in the back. You have to 'close' the drive tray bar in order to get the drive to connect- it doesn't simply slide all the way in.

The fan is bleh, but then again... I can't expect aluminum all the time can I? :)

At least yours has a fan!!! My USB 2.0 enclosure works great. But since it doesnt have a fan I only plug it in when I need it. http://www.a-tec.com.tw/ourproducts43.htm

Only problem with mine is that it is a no namer so can't find drivers on the net when I want to install it on a computer with win 98 or below. But did come with a cd of drivers but I dont typically carry that around.
