Yes, that's right
Built by Medion
2.66 GHz P4
533 FSB
512 KB second level cache
GeForce4 8X Ti4200 with 128MB DDR
Seagate 120GB 7200 rpm HD
Samsung 256MB DDR SDRAM 333MHz expandable to 2 GB
Connect XL
Sony 40x12x48x CD-RW
16x DVD-Rom
10 software applications (I don't know what)
A very sweet case with card reader, audio connectors, usb connectors, i think firewire and joystick and MIDI in all built in to front panel. It does not have any open 5 1/4in slots though. They were originally sold for $899. It sure looks like a steal for $699. Aldis also has a 19" monitor for $99.99 and a couple other things.

Quick question though... Does anyone know what the "Connect XL" is?

Whoops, never mind. Apparently the "Connect XL" refers to the panel with the CompactFlash\MemoryStick\etc interface.

These computers are amazing for the price. The video card is damn good, the card reader is neat, the 120gb hard drive is ok, but a little slow.

For anyone who is lerry about buying a computer from Aldi - a grocery store - I just want to say that my dad has a desktop pc but wanted a laptop just because he thinks they are neat (he's retired and has nothing better to do with his money than buy toys). A few months ago (in the summer) Aldi had a laptop for something like $1500.00 (maybe less) but he loves it. It's faster than his desktop which is about 1 1/2 years old. He loves toting it around on the many trips he and my mom take - many hotels now have internet access and also uses it for Streets and Trips software when they need driving directions to a spare of the moment side trip when he needs driving directions. He is very happy with it. I've been on it a few times and was pleased with it (I bought a laptop for my son when he went away to college and it's faster than that one and was cheaper!!!). He has not had any reason to use the warranty or has not needed tech support. I thought I'd let you know that Aldi's laptop was well worth the money - it was loaded and cheaper than anything similar at the time. I can't vouch for the desktop pc but if the laptop is any indication, the desktop should be a good pc and worth the price. Just my 2 cents.
