Greetings folks, one of my friends is having a problem with Outlook 2k2 running on Windows XP pro. Everytime he tries to enter in a new appointment in the calendar, it always defaults to the current day. This means that if he tries to enter an appointment in the future, the default is today's date instead of the future date. I have tried doing the same thing on my computer, and I have no problem scheduling a future appointment. I have looked through the millions of submenus on Outlook but cannot locate anything that determines the default date entry. Any suggestions? He is all patched up Windows and Office-wise.

One more thing, he can manually change the date in the New Appointment dialog box and it will work correctly, however it is inconvenient to do so when he is trying to enter appointments in on the fly.

Thanks for your help.

Is he trying to enter appointments in on today's date, or a future date? From my experiences, there is no way to set a default future date. That wouldn't make much sense. I think he would have to click on the day he wants to make the entry and then click new appointment. that will default to the selected day.

That is what he is doing, clicking in the day that he wants to make the appointment, however when he does that then the appointment goes back to the current day(today) instead of the future day. It's really wierd.
