my free 40 day trial is up on WINrar and i use to have this on my Pc along time ago and it was a version that dit not have a time limit i think it was 2.x. does any one know of the version and where to get it. also is ther antoheer progra that can creat rar and decompress rar files?

My winrar says it expires but keeps on working. One of my favorite programs is Xtrax. It decompresses most compressed files (.ace, .zip, .rar, and more)

I hate winrar, at least in the sense of my p0rn. I d/l it from news groups and then I have to go and decompress each one and hope there are no nasty viruses (computer kind) in the .rars...

'sides, who wants to wait to look at the new batch of goodies they've d/l'd?

Nothing personal against RAR, I'd hate zips just as much, but don't seem as popular for newsgroups.

Thanks all i managed to find a version of win RAR that will work for me... i like win RAR because it is a better tighter compression than a zip file and you can set it to check the intergerity of the arcive

POWERARCHIVER is a good program. And WinACE can also decompress .rar.
