Sound Blaster Audigy ($50, beware: drivers can be...finicky) (I own one-love it most of the time)
Radeon 8500 pro 64MB (NOOOOO!) If you have to skimp, get the Asus ti4200 8X from compugeeks. ($100)

If you can't spent enough to get high quality parts, buy a dell-you get lots of computer for very little $$.
