ive successfully screwed myself..

i dont even know what i did this time but my windows is all screwed up and its giving me .dll errors and bsods up the wazoo. im going to reformat and install win xp pro instead of home. how can i partion my hard disk into another 15 meg partion so i can store all my files on it then wipe the other partion...install xp pro..copy the files..and merge that partion back?

am i going to need partion magic? or is there some command line way to do this...thanks

Parition magic or a similar tool is the only way you can create the new partition without having to first format the drive. If you have PM, you can create your second partition, drag all your data over there, and then reformat the first partition for your System files.

By the way if you have Norton Ghost, you might want to Ghost your drives after you're reinstalled and happy.

Did you overclock? If so you may have pushed the fsb so high it corrupted your OS. But thats just an outside chance.

i made another parition using parition magic 8.0 and im backing up my important stuff to it now then im going to reformat c and put xp pro on it...wish me luck...i think i am done for the night after i finish backing up my music

congrats on the 1000th post..but nah i didnt overclock.. my master boot record is screwed up and pretty much all my applications dont work besides aim and winamp...oh and the letters on my screen are the size of my hand due to no screen drivers
