My gf has a newer HP Pavilion 762c... it is a decient computer with a 1.2 ghz, 100 gigs and 256 ram... however the 32 mb GeForce 4 video card sucks. On the occasion when we watch dvds toghter, the player says that I need to lower the resolution or color depth, however that is only on the occasion. The computer will also not run Command and Conquer Generals on it... stating that it needs Direct X 8 or better... which we have 9... does anyone else have this problem?

I am running win xp... and i dont think that the monitor is a "bottleneck"... it is the pavilion f50... is that of any help?

You have the dx9 software on your system but your 3d card is only dx7 hardware. C&C Generals requires dx8 hardware to run.
