Has Anyone tried this and gotten it to work? Kim has a friend in Canada but I would rather not bother them if this deal is dead.

I put it in the cart without the USB cradle (subtract $29) last night and it worked. You should ask your friend to buy it.

i tried it too... so far no cancellations..

but.. if u go thru dell's site.. the link to customize is gone.. but u can still get to it thru the direct link that apex gave...

one other thing.. if the price is a mistake.. would they still honor it? and how long does it take for them to ship? :)

thx

My price is after all the taxes and shipping. Came out to around $170 Canadian, so right about $118 US.

So many times if I'm a day behind, the links that start out with http://click.linksynergy.com/ don't work as is the case presently with the AXIM deal here. I got tons of connections in Canada, but can't get this deal to work.
Help?

Are you using a banner blocking program or Kazaa lite? You on XP?

Open up your host file with notepad. It should be here:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

It'll start with something like this:

# Copyright (c) 1993-1999 Microsoft Corp.
#
# This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
#
# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
# entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
# be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
# The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
# space.
#
# Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
# lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
#
# For example:
#
# 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
# 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host

127.0.0.1 localhost

Anything at the bottom of that, next to a 127.0.0.1 will be routed to your local computer instead of to the correct address. Just delete the lines with that next to it and it'll work fine.

yup, can't even add on to cart now. clicking "choose axim x5" takes you to the product details page instead. i'd say they've yanked it.

Hello Mr. Customer,

I am writing you in regards to your recent online purchase.

Dell has become aware of a pricing error on our website for our Dell Axim X5 handhelds. The incorrect pricing of $89.00 for the 300MHz model and $118 for the 400MHz model resulted from a technical glitch with one of our database systems. We endeavor to provide current and accurate pricing information at all times on our website. Nevertheless, such errors do occur. The actual pricing for the 300MHz and 400MHz models is $379 and $549 respectively, exclusive of shipping and applicable taxes.

Accordingly, your order and all orders for Dell Axim X5 handhelds with incorrect pricing will not be processed.

If you are interested in placing your Dell Axim order with the correct pricing, please place a new order on our website at www.dell.ca.

If your credit card has already been charged, we will issue a credit to your credit card account in the amount of the charge. Please note that individual bank policies will dictate when this amount is credited to your account. Dell is not obligated to sell products based on pricing errors on our website. Dell will endeavor to contact all customers directly who have placed an order to notify them of the current situation and inform them that their orders have not been processed. Dell apologizes for any inconvenience this pricing error may have caused.

Thank you for your understanding.
