Which Lcd To Buy?!?!?!?

Hello my fellow G|A'ers. Again, I need your help in deciding what to buy, and this time, it's LCD screens! WHAT TO GO WITH? I want at least a 18in, and a good price. I sort of want a samsung LCD. But I'm willing to part with the brand. And I'm also sort of leaning on to the dell 18.1 in. Because of the awsome price that they are giving it away for. Tell me, what are the good brands, what are the most affordable, and quality. Which brands do not have\bare minimum "ghosting" and stuff like that! Oh the help you guys bring! I truly thx you much!

What's your budget?

Might as well go for the best you can get for your price range. I expect to 18" go for what the 17 have been going for (under $500) in the next couple of months.

Anything under 30ms is good IMO. 400+ to 1 contrast and might as well grab a name brand.

What are you gonna use it for? That samsung 17" widescreen is sweet for watching movies, etc.

hopefully about 450 or so...the price I'm shooting for.

I'm gonna be doing mostly gaming and watching movies. Internet stuff...with lots of scroling...that why I don't want much "ghosting"

I have the NEC 18" at work and my wife has the Dell 18" at home. I truly don't see much difference between them. They are both pretty nice and I generally don't see much in the way of ghosting.

It was crazy...I was reading on cnet...and I read one person payed like 278 for his 18 inch! Holy monkey...I would so get it for that price! Anywho...I'm really leaning towards the Dell...but I still want to know what you guys think about it. Thx Snot for the comparison...it was helpful!

Okay...So I'm for sure going for the dell 18.1 inch LCD. If anybody has any objections...please tell me. Now all I need to do now, is search for a good price. I'm sure the deals page will come up with a Dell, LCD coupon soon!

I also have the personal standard of 1600x1200. Since I'm spoiled by dual monitors, the LCD I get has to be the same or bigger than my 19" CRT (even though an 18" would be the equiv). I love desktop space!
