is there any kind of contraption that will convert USB 1.1 to firewire? i'm gonna get a SB extigy for sure, but i know of the contrainst of USB 1.1, and since i'll be running it on my laptop, i was thinking that maybe i can hook it up to a firewire card i plan on buying anyway for my laptop so that it can run better. thanks.

I have never seen anything like that. Those are 2 totally different formats.
I googled it a little and didn't find anything, but I did find a SCSI to Firewire. Heh.. I guess anything is possible.

i think scsi is fast enough to handle firewire (gigs/sec)
but usb is tons slower (megs/sec) so my initial guess is that they don't exist.
