I have been installing a bunch of junk on this work computer which I also use for gaming. I must have installed something crappy because now I get this:

~~~~~~~~~
Initializing OpenGL driver
...getting DC: succeeded
...GLW_ChoosePFD( 16, 24, 0 )
...35 PFDs found
...GLW_ChoosePFD failed
...failed to find an appropriate PIXELFORMAT
...restoring display settings
...WARNING: could not set the given mode (3)
...shutting down QGL
...unloading OpenGL DLL
...assuming '3dfxvgl' is a standalone driver
...initializing QGL
...WARNING: missing Glide installation, assuming no 3Dfx available
...shutting down QGL
----- CL_Shutdown -----
RE_Shutdown( 1 )
-----------------------
GLW_StartOpenGL() - could not load OpenGL subsystem
~~~~~~~~~~~~

What does that mean? Should I just reinstall Direct X or something like that?

Not that old computer with the EISA card (http://www.gotapex.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=59168)? :o :heh:

Whats the videocard is in that system?

What game you trying to play? Did the game run before?

The game is finding an OpenGL driver but it doesn't work. Then it goes onto a 3dfx driver and doesn't find a 3dfx card.

Hehe nah not that old piece o' junk. This computer is pretty dope, p4 2.4 ghz, 512megs, geforce4 ti4600! It ran Wolfenstein great before, but recently I tried installing an old crappy ass game(Motoracer if you are interested) and after that it stopped running. I can't say for sure that this is the culprit, but I'm betting on it.

So what do you think I should do?

I played Motoracer back in the day. Its an old Direct3D game and has settings for various cards of yonder like the Riva128. :o

Return to Wolfie is an OpenGL game and afaik it uses DirectX for sound and whatnot.

I'd uninstall Motoracer and reinstall Direct X. Some of these old games forcibly install old versions of DirectX {the dark horse classic Rocket Jockey does}.

Cool man I'll give that a shot. I'll let you know what happens.

Muchas gracias :thumb:

Otherwise, it's possible the OpenGL driver is corrupt. Uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers should fix it.

I uninstalled Motoracer and Wolfenstein, then reinstalled Wolfenstein and Direct X and it didn't work. Here is the full log:
