The rebate for the Shipping seems to work, but not for the $12.50. Still a decent deal. This is what I recieved from the $12.50 off rebate page.
"Your order number [my order #] isn't valid for the
dates of this promotion."
I've tried multiple times with no success.

I just found out that they sell it for 53 something at onvia, so you can pricematch it at staples and use $20 of $50 coupon and a rebate and get it for $13 bucks

ok, looked at the pricematch policy for Staples.com. The will match the price, but not beat it apparently.
See the <A href="http://www.staples.com/support/faq/general/web_policy.asp"> price match policy here. </a>
I don't see any real benefit here... anyone know something I don't?

I was wondering a couple things:
1) Will my Staples store honor the online coupons or do I have to purchase online and
2) How do I pricematch online... do I have to call them and order over the phone?
Thanks.

Staples.com offes a $20 rebate through linksys, so that takes the price down to 59.99 (79.99-20). Then they price match it to Onvia's $53. Use the 20 0ff 50 coupon for $33, so it really doesnt make it that much more of a bargain then using Onvia and Linksys' rebate. Plus Onvia gives you free shipping. Yes it's free ground shipping, but I got my last order in 2 days!

Irish: you forgot that rebate doesnt come from Onvia, it come from the manufacturer: LinkSys. So you can still apply it to your Staples order and get it for $33-$20=$13
Now if only staples wasnt sold out of them Do you guys know how to get local stores to honor online coupons

Never mind, Irish: you forgot the Main rule of deal calculus: mail-in rebates come after you buy the product. So,
a) Pricematch to $53
b) Apply $20 off $50 coupon=$33
c) Then after you get it, send in mail-in rebate and get another $20 bucks back=$13 after rebate

Ok, someone please correct me. I just went to the Staples.com page and looked up the "Linksys EtherFast 10/100 5-Port Workgroup Switch." They have it for $79.97. Then, when you follow the link for the $20 rebate, it takes you to a link where the same switch shows a $40 rebate. This with the pricematch of $54 at computers4sure.com should bring it down to $14, at which point you still have the $20 rebate from Linksys... Am I correct or am I missing something. Do I need to call and cancel the order from computers4sure.com?? Someone doublecheck and tell me I can't get a 10/100 SWITCH and $6.. or am I just that good?

Well, I defintely double checked this one.
2 things you need to now about. One, if these rebates were actual, you would only be able to use one, since companies limit them to one per household, but if you used your company address...
And two, the $40 off rebate shows that you need to purchase item 12656 AND item 13597. Now I can't tell a lick of difference between the two, but besides, you'd need to purcahse 2 5-port switches to get this rebate. So the best you can deal with this deal is get the 5-port switch for $34, sorry.
And please, someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Ok, well, the time came and went as though Staples.com is on to Gotapex. Maybe 30 minutes went by and the coupon amount has already dropped from $40 to $20. They must have seen this post! It's down to the $20 that I believe is the Linksys rebate they offer from the site directly. Either way, someone double check me again. Is the $20 from Staples and the $20 from Linksys the same or no? I have the manufacturer rebate from Linksys printed, and if they aren't the same here's the deal.
Pricematch the switch from $79.97 to $54.99, then the $20 from Staples - and here is where it gets sketchy - then use the $20 Linksys rebate?
BUT Will the pricematch from staples.com mean that you have to include the shipping cost of the other site? Hmmm

In my experience, I just pick the product I want, if it's available, or if not a product similar in price, add the coupon, and print the shopping cart page that shows the discout. If the coupon code's not shown, I write in on the receipt. Both times, I've brought the product I want to the checkout with the printed sheet, given it to the checkout girl, she's chewed her gum and looked confused for several minutes, yelled to the technology guy, he's come over with a furrowed brow and looked puzzled, then they've folded it in half and the machine eats and stamps it and they give me the product with the coupon off. Well, that actually only happened once, the other time they just fed it through. I don't think they had gum the second time either. http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
At any rate, if you were feeling particularly evil, it seems like you could just scam them by making a phony printout showing a discount that doesn't exist, because they don't phone anything in and check it. The downside being that I imagine that falls under the category of <u>fraud</u>, which I've heard is a federal crime in some states http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/smile.gif

The problem with local stores is that they dont take online coupons. If you dont care about getting another $20 off $50, you might as well get it at onvia or buy.com
But theyre out of stock anyways http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/frown.gif

Here's my interpretation of the rebate... There is only one rebate, and it is a manufacturers rebate from Linksys. It's for $20. Staples is just promoting the rebate. Even if there was 2 rebates, you would need to find another UPC for the switch because they require you to send that in with the rebate form. Hence, you could only get one rebate... Unless you have a UPC printer and some cardboard stock...

Well... I hate pricematching... This is what I am gonna do. Buy.com has this switch for $55.95, with $20 rebate (http://www.linksys.com/wheretobuy/images/usa2.pdf) and there is a $10 off $50 (http://www.us.buy.com/retail/coupon.asp?prid=80310181) from buy.com, the price will be $25.95 + 5.89 S/H. The final cost is $31.84.

You hate pricematching...Good for you... I will just have to wait for staples to restock on those switches, pricematche them to onvia or buy.com $55 price(both of them are out of stock for now) apply $20 off $50 coupon and get it for $35. After which i will gladly mail in the rebate for another $20 and hopefully in a month or so I'll be bragging how I got a $75 switch for $15.

I got a question for the peeps that bought their switch from Staples.com... Did you guys call in to get the pricematch, or did you do it at your local store?

Well... I think I will try to do the pricematch (My very first time). So can anyone teach me how to pricematch STAPLES.COM? It seems like I have to first buy the products, then send them a email that I find it @ Onvia.com for $53? That case I believe they will probably say I have applied the coupon $20 off 50 so they are the same price...

I wouldn't bother. I pricematched at Staples(using Buy.com). They included a $17(next day delivery price). SO they pricematched it down to like $73...yay.

We appreciate your inquiry concerning this issue.
Thank you for bringing the lower price on item 430473
Linksys 5-port 10/100 switch at Buy.com to our attention. We will be able to

so just like that! Frankly, I won't bother trying to pricematch anything at Staples(although will still buy select items).

I'd try sending your email again. I did this three times with the Freestyle Pro deal, One lady didn't even respond, one guy said they don't expect more until the end of August, and the last lady had no clue, so I just ordered it and walla, it came. You might get a different price. Plus use Onvia.com where shipping is free.

Hey dromeda, i didnt think you needed to pricematch to get freestyle for $1.99 after rebates(51.99-20coupon-30rebate)

Yeah, you don't, I was just talking about asking questions and getting B.S. for answers, each service rep. will give you a different answer, so just keep sending the message until you get the one you want.

The problem is that Onvia didn't have it in stock(so can;t use them to pricematch it).
