If you have the $ get the all in wonder. I have a WinTV card. It was like $20 and it works well. Co-ax cable only though. Get one that suits your input needs fully.

how does it look on the monitor with the WinTv card? also, are there any that allow you to watch tv with either cable tv connection or through an antenna?

I've pretty much tried them all. I've had 2 WinTV's (Hauppauge), ATI TV Wonder VE, and Leadtek Winfast Deluxe TV2000XP.

The Leadtek is BY FAR the best quality, ease of use, and overall best card I've had. For about $10 more, it came with a remote and FM reception (although it doesn't come in really well down here). About $55 at Newegg.com

Don't settle for BT848/878 at this point. No real reason to. If you really have your heart set on a Leadtek, get the Leadtek Winfast TV2000 Expert.

I've searched around quite a while and the only thing I can come up with are the specs at the leadtek site here: [Link (http://www.leadtek.com.tw/www/Web_Leadtek/multimedia/winfast_tv2000xp_expert.html)]. Any site selling this yet or know how much it will cost?

Thanks DarkFury, but Apex was talking about the Expert version of that card and I could not locate that at newegg. I only found the Deluxe version there. There seems to be 3 versions of the card...regular, deluxe and expert.

The expert will perform almost identically with the Asus 880 card (same chip, almost identical tuner).

I'll be getting the Flyvideo 3000 TV/FM in a few days. I'll be able to compare those two cards (since I've had the Asus for about a month now).

I'll let you know if the Philips 9-bit card or the Cognexant 10-bit is better
