Anyway, since your posting is here, my wife ordered a luxury car through carsdirect.com, with the options she wanted. A Mr. Harold Pollitt, carsdirect.com 800-431-2500, acted like a used car salesman and tried to sell her a more option loaded model and asked her to pick up the car in the Los Angeles area when we live in the San Francisco area and also pushed carsdirect.com Bank One financing when she already had her own lower APR financing set up. She cancelled the order and went through a regular car dealer.

The $250 credit card deposit is refundable and can be applied toward the car purchase. She asked for a credit card refund and discovered Mr. Pollitt had not run my wife credut card charge through, probably because he did not have the model my wife wanted.

Personally, I would try the other car websites before I settle on cardirect.com.

I'm also thinking of getting a new car from carsdirect.com. After your horrible story w/'em, I should take a serious consideration. Is there any other online car selling website? Thanks.

I purchased my 2000 Tacoma 4X4 using Carsdirect.com. Opposite from the previous poster, there wasn't any selling pressure what so ever from their people. I got a damn good deal, well over $3K less than what I could of gotten locally. My one complaint however is that it took so long (2 months) and that it was very difficult to get a hold of my rep. Other than that, if you have patience, they will save you money.

I went around autobytel and found this model for about $130 less, i was looking through the papers and saw it for less than 22 thou. I was hoping that these guys would have it at invoice or less. Haha, and these prices are before they start adding on all the fees.
