When it comes time to pony up the scratch, you can't go wrong with www.newegg.com.

MY $0.02:

The motherboard is the single most important part of your computer-a stable motherboard is a stable foundation.

I prefer:
Asus
MSI
Soyo
Abit

(in that order)

BTW: you scores are fine. Again, my $0.02.

Would an existing P4 1.6Ghz pop into that board nicely? What's the maxim CPU speed it would take? Thanks, DF!

Personally, for P4, my mobo of choice is Asus P4PE (Intel 845PE chipset...)

You can buy these for under $120 now online... :D

Interesting. I currently run an MSI 845 Ultra-ARU. I OC my 1.6A to 2.12. I took it to 2.5GHz with PC3200, but I did notice that sometimes it >8 seconds to post at the higher FSB.

Is your motherboard unstable or are you just trying to boost your benchmarks?

how is the Asustek P4B533? I compared it with the Asustek P4PE and everything is the same. The chipset, compatible CPUs, max ram and etc.

Googlegear (http://www.googlegear.com) has it for $108 and NewEgg (http://www.newegg.com) has it for $110.

<edit: the Asus P4PE, that is...since you edited the post above while I was posting...:hmm: :P >

Both are extremely reputable, you can verify at resellerratings.com (http://www.resellerratings.com)
