If you arent playing this game, do yourself a favor and start. I've never been so hooked on a game as this, with the possible except of Morrowind. Its really, really good.

I just started to sheck out the demo and I must agree. Very cool game indeed. Gots to get me the full copy!

I got sick of it. Too much playing. Haven't touched it for a week. Finish the story line and you're stuck hauling cargo or doing one dimensional missions.

Very cool game, indeed!

It is a game that is very much asking for add-on modules. I "completed" it (The main plot) but got kinda bored making money for no real reason.

Even after I beat the game I'll keep playing until I have the best ship equipped with all the best guns. I have to know I'm maxed out.

Once you get *near* the end, you will...(and the ship/guns are nearly free.)

NAh, I am near the end. I have the Anubis fighter and stuff. The best ship/guns you get during single player campaign are level 6 stuff. I'm interested in getting the level 10 badass equipment.

Doesn't take long, go bribe a few people to get higher reps with a certain very xenophobic group and voila, you got the most armored vessel. Fly aimlessly around for hours and find a jumphole to some far off system and grab yourself some alien weapons that don't drain your energy, then you're set. By that time you should be level 38 and bored with the game.

I am playing, but I keep having game crashes... :(
Things start going slow then my system locks.

Weird, Grimm... Where did you download the game? :heh:

Seriously, though... did you run into the sound card issue? There are a few patches / fixes on the official site to address crashes.

still playing it occasionally. I'm hosting my own server so its kinda playing with other people. Sometimes we get guys fighting each other.
But yeah, i've pretty much gotten the top three level 10 heavy fighters & the alien guns. And I've also gotten the best freighter to go along with that. Not much else to do other than install mods.

Could be the sound card, I have the intergrated kind. I looked for patches but did not find any, I will look again.

The game has been stable for me. Runs smooth with 4x AA on too and looks good.

But I did notice when I was installing it took forever. I noticed this trend with lots of MS games. They always take a week to install.

Second. Video coding is VERY well done.

MS likes to use TONS of little files, rather than large pak files.

Actually now I am at the end. I have the Titan and 2x Diamond Backs and 6 other level 10 guns. Nothing can touch me at this point.

So, as far as combat goes, is there an advantage to having a fighter over a freighter? Are fighters harder to hit?

Freighters are useless. You wont be able to beat the single player game with a freighter. Stick to heavy fighters. The best heavy fighter of each nation are available in the respective battleships. Buy those until you can get the Anubis Very Heavy Fighter towards the end.

unfortunately your stuck that way in sp, in mp u can level up by the amount of cash u own, meaning, its easier to start out with a freighter, though but the time i made it into rheinland space, i was got a falcon in multi.
