I heard if you buy those athlon xp 2000+ chip with ECS k75sa motherboard you can use pc133 ram in that board. Is that true and if it is is 256 pc2100 ddr better or would it be worth it to put 512 of pc133 that I already have. Thanks
what will you be doing with the computer? if you don't really need the speed/performance then i say stick with what you got for now. if the motherboard supports both memory types, then you can always upgrade to DDR later.

how much faster will 256 of pc2100 be compared to 512 of pc133
maybe someone else knows the technical analysis of the two, but i would imagine that pc2100 is faster, but not by much.

I'm not sure, but if you're running Win XP I would imagine that 512MB if PC133 would be faster because you would be accessing the hard drive less often for caching purposes.

Since you already have 512MB PC133 RAM, stay with that and save your $$$ for a real motherboard and good 512MB PC2700 RAM.
