I'm finally going to buy my first cell. Can someone recommend an all-purpose site to help me decide on what to choose. Also recommendations for the OC area would be great.
And any ongoing deals for a cell or service plan would be nice.

Amazon has the best prices for the best phones, if you decide to go with T-mobile. I am in OC and T-mobile works great. Doesnt work very well in Burbank area though. Everywhere else I have been works good.
There was a thread somewhere about this.
I should have listened to it, t-mobile is bad in los angeles. Real bad.
Worked fine for about 8 days. Then today the network is down. Just down. Want to make a call? Too bad.
I gave up after about 20-30 minutes. Then cancelled within the 14 day period. Amazon makes the return very easy.
I'd recommend Verizon for service (not to be confused with customer service). If you can't make a call when you want, the frustration you experience doesn't begin to compensate for the phone deal you got or the cool looking phone with nice features you got.
Really now, all I want to do is make a fricking phone call.

cingular just upgraded it's system in San Diego so that you are supposed to have at most 2% dropped calls or busy signals. 2+ billion dollars I guess it cost them
