I am thinking of making a purchase today, but wanted to see what you guys think, and also ask a few questions first:

2 Intel Xeon 2.8 Ghz processors
3.5 Floppy
48x cd-rom
512MB DDR SDRAM (1x512)
no OS
36GB 10k rpm ultra 320 68 pin SCSI Hard Drive
on board network adaptor

$1167.30

I plan on using the system for photo editing, gaming, and internet surfing.

Ok, now the questions:

1. Is this as good of a deal as I think it is?

2. Do I need to get a certain OS in order to take full advantage of 2 processors?

3. I am going to want to add a high capacity hard drive to store files, a dvd player, more ram, dvd burner, graphics card, and sound card. Will this system be easily upgradable?

4. I know that this computer is going to probably be a bit more than I need, but I want it to last for several years at the least before I have to upgrade again.

Anyway, if I decide to buy, it has to be today to take advantage of the 10% off coupon, so any help will be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

There's no AGP slot and there's only 1 32-bit PCI slot. I rather get the Dimension 4550 and upgrade it for gaming. I got mine (last week deal) for $467 after MIR and it comes with 2.66Ghz, 128MB PC2700, 60GB hard drive, 48X CD-ROM, and R9000Pro AIW video card. I will add another stick of 512MB PC2700 and the system will be complete.

you're going to want to use windows XP if you plan on using hyperthreading :)

Yeah, dude, Xeon isn't going to be faster for multimedia. That's a data crunching processor. If you're jonesin' to have a dual proc system, you may as well go with the high end workstations that dell has that will come with AGP slots etc...
