Here is a long distance company I have been using for my US calls, as well as any other calls to other countries. It is called Onesuite. Right now it is 2.9 cents/minute in the 48 states using the 800 number, 2.5 cents/minute if you have access to their local numbers.

Onesuite (http://www.onesuite.com)

This rate can't be beat. You are only charged per minute. There are no activation, monthly fee, or any hidden charges. Same rate anytime, day or night. You usually buy in $10 increments. One you set up your account, all you do to place calls is:

-Dial 1-800-315-9339 (Or the local access number)
-Dial your pin (Home phone with area code) + 4 extra random numbers

At this point they tell you how much $$ you have left.

-Dial the number you wish to call.

Then the message tells you how long you can talk with the amount of credits you have left in your account. (It does the math for ya)

Hope this helps out. It has saved me a ton of money. Especially when calling friends in the Asian area.

I'm new and didn't see it yet in the forums. And I didn't post any referral. I am sure there are some other people new to the forum that could benefit from the post.

Onesuit can't be mentioned often enough! I have used them for 1.5 years and they are excellent!
The first post forgot to mention that you can customize a bunch of things through their website:
You can specify phone numbers from which you do not need to use your pin-code (saves a lot of time)
You can also add quick-dial numbers so all you have to do is call the 1-800 number and then press 10# and it will dial your number automatically.

onesuite kicks ass. Someone less lazy than I should post the link to the last onesuite thread. There were a lot of testimonies on that one.

No more than 15 minutes ago I purchased a pre-paid calling card from the gas station! (I never have had the need to call with a calling card b4 but now I do and I did not know about the good deals that are out there!)

Oh well.. it was $9.99 so I should use it up quickly enough at 9.9 cents / min. I am sure to test this one out next time!

these guys are really doing business. They have several advantages, including long expiring period (6 months instead of 2 or 3), good quality, easy access and you can purchase as mouch as you want. The most beautiful thing is the low rate. It is even lower that making a local call both in here and in my home country!
