Win Xp Cd

is there any way i can download all the updates to winxp pro and reburn the XPcd with all the updates merged into it so i dont have to download all those updates each time i do an install. (yea i am leagle we have a site lisense here at work)

There should be a way to do this because it can be done with SP1

check on kazaa, they have some called windows xp "x-in-1" cd's...they have multiple versions of windows xp (home, pro, corp) with SP1 integrated into them.... pm me for a sig2dat for one of them.

Not that I know of. Besides, doesn't XP setup have the feature where it goes out during setup and pulls updates off the web if you have a web connection hooked up to the machine?

I asked a few techs about this when XP was launched and they did not have an answer for this. I have found that I can get full installs of some of the larger updates like SP1, WMP 9, and DirectX 9 from Microsoft's website. Then I burn them to a CD with whatever other dirver updates I need onto a CD.

anyways. copying larger updates to CD is a good idea, i start doing this and save some bandwidth

While you're at it, ask them to support multiple domain connections on a single computer. That one's been driving me nuts for years.

That's why they have Trusts! If your Domains trust each other, you don't have to log on to multiple Domains, cuz it does it transparently.

My company has about 126 domains spread around the world and we have no issues because we setup proper trusts.

Yeah, that works if the network is set up properly, unlike ours! We're actually in the midst of setting up Active Directory worldwide, so this problem will most likely go away soon.

However, I've had several occasions where people would visit affiliate offices and the boneheads there would join the machines to their local domain rather than just giving them an IP address & Internet access. Causes no end of headaches.

Several years ago, this was a feature that was supposed to be included in W2K. Got cut out for some reason...

Prolly for security. In theory, if your machine to log onto multiple domains simultaneously, you coul use that machine as a gateway between them thereby allowing access to users that otherwise wouldn't have it.
