Well the ride is almost over... I called and they said the change was on ALL cards. It was a good ride with over $1000 in refunds... I guess I'll drop my Platinum card now...
Best Value Guarantee
Getting the best value on your purchases is easy. Best Value Guarantee ensures that you pay the lowest price available on covered items purchased entirely with an eligible American Express Card. If, within 60 days, you find an identical item to the one you just purchased with the Card advertised in print at a lower price than you originally paid, American Express will reimburse the difference in price to you, up to $250 per item.
Simply call 1-800-557-8317 for additional questions or to initiate your request for a refund. You will then be asked to send us the printed dated advertisement, your American Express record of charge, and the store receipt within 90 days of your purchase. Effective May 1, 2003, price comparisons which are found on the Internet do not qualify under this program. We will gladly honor your request for a refund on a savings of $10 or more. Refunds are limited to up to $250 per item and up to $1,000 annually per Card Account. Please see additional limitations.

it's always good while it lasted.
I think that the Costco Amex card still has the BVG.
Also, Citicards has the BVG as well but only if you're matching to B&M prices.
cheers

I have a Platinum Delta Skymiles card that cost $125/year and they took it away... They still do pricematching, but not to Internet sites.

Just read through that, it doesn't mention anything about Best Value Guarantee. Here is a link (http://www66.americanexpress.com/cards/NCMfservlet?54/0a5/4/304112854686z310264100138/n&link=benefits53) directly to their Costco card, on AMEX's website, and has no mention of it either. If it did, everyone would be all over it. Perhaps they pulled it along with the Blue cards a while back?

This is not a card dependant change... The entire Best Value Guarantee has changed... No card will offer Internet Price matching. This is directly from the BVG operators. You can call if you'd like, here is the phone number: 1-800-557-8317.
Here is a link to the general BVG Page:

I just talked to two different reps and they said the only cards that support Internet Price matching are:
Costo Business
Centurion Business
Platinum Business
Looks like I'm trading in my Platinum Delta Card.

Any idea if they are planning on cancelling the PM on Costco Business anytime soon?

Not that I know of... They just specifically said those 3 cards were still honoring Internet Price Matches... I'd say they'll be gone in a few months, but that's just a guess. Actually, I just noticed that they were all "Business-Class" cards. Perhaps they just killed off the consumer cards.
anybody know if BVG works in Canada?

You can apply online for a Costco AMEX. It's free, but you must have a Costco membership that costs $45/year.

My Chase Platinum has Loweest Price Protection. Just had to call and ask it to be added. It looks like it covers internet sites, but not internet auction sites (that is the only internet restriction I see). It is called "Chase Shop Secure".

Does it cost anything to have it added?

I tried using it, only to find out I didn't *have* any best value guarantee on the Costco Amex card.

eventually, BVG will go away completely for all cc companies. No one makes money in the long run. And the usual "oh they won't really price match" (ie "rebate refund" mentality) doesn't apply anywhere near what cc companies thought. In other words, they all made refunds too easy and accessible.
