Thanks to the OP. :)

Do a search for: WD1200BBRTL
There are three rebates. Two of them requires and original UPC, but people called the rebate center and said it's OK to use a copy. Just make sure you leave a friendly note explaining why you must use a copy when submittnig a copy of the UPC.
You must do an in-store pick-up. It's out online.

I WOULD ADVISE YOU TO PRINT THE REBATE FORMS ASAP. THEY'RE KNOWN TO MYSTERIOUSLY DISAPPEAR.
i have printed all the rebates. if you need them, please email me with a FAX number and i'll fax it to you.

Wow, it's out everywhere! Oh well.
Good find, though. :(

does a red circle with a white x in it mean that it is out of stock?

I JUST got off the phone with WD rebates, and the young lady there said that they JUST received word (<3 minutes ago) that the $60 and the $80 rebates are mutually exclusive. You have to choose which one you want, and send in for that one. You cannot get both.
She wasn't sure what would happen for those who were told otherwise and sent in the rebates, but apparently the $60 and $80 were not intended to be stacked, which is why they both require the original UPC.
...and I had found one in stock not too far away...dayumm...
I just had the same conversation.....damn
But still, 70.00 isn't bad for that drive....Just feel bitter paying that much now.

Another reason why you should never call a CSR regarding a deal. I'll say it again, you can get all three rebates. I got an email confirmation with all three rebates attached. They advertised it, they have to honor it. Simple.

I called Western Digital also and they said i can only choose the $60 or $80 rebate. How do I force them to accept BOTH rebates? The CSR said that it's not their problem but circuit city's problem for mis-advertising. How do I go about getting western digital to accept both. They say the rebate says limit one rebate per person and they are both rebate program #WDC. Before I cut off the UPC I want to be sure I can get both! I don't need a new hard drive but for the price (of $10.00 plus tax I can't resist!!!) They are still in stock in wilkes-Barre PA. I'd be happy to have readers send me the money via paypal and I'd pick them up one and ship it to them (it would cost $169.59 with 6% PA tax PLUS shipping to you if we can be assured the offer was really good. I sell on ebay and have a feedback of about 48 or so 100% positive rating if that makes anyone feel batter about taking me up on my offer) Any help is greatly with this is greatly appreciated. Thanks

STOP CALLING THEM. If you sheepish about this, stay away and don't ruin it for everyone. Did you people that called bother reading CC's website?
This is exactly what it says:
"Was $179.99, Now $159.99, Save $20!
Price is before: $10 mail-in rebate
Price is before: $80 mail-in rebate(s)
Price is before: $60 mail-in rebate"
It has been confirmed already, so stop calling.

forget about my offer to pick up the hd's in my local store - they now say they are out of stock
Good point, mysterX. But I already did call, nothing I can do about that now.
But the second I got on the phone, and told the gentleman what I was calling about, he clearly chuckled....he said he personally has taken close to a 100 calls about this. And said it's not going to happen. He says to battle the retailer for the discount.
With my call, these other 2 guys from here calling, aren't going to matter when one guy at the rebate center claims he's fielded a hundred already.. .

What is sheepish about calling - once i cut off and send in the upc i can't return it to the store. When they send me a letter that the upc copy is invalid and i already got one rebate and it's limited to one I can call and write til I'm blue in the face and still not get the rebate! I called circuit city's online help. The woman there said she has to research it because from what she found out so far the one rebate is NOT valid. If someone would tell me HOW to enforce the double rebate I wouldn't have to call!!

Is it really that hard? Didn't you read my post above how to submit all three rebates. And didn't read my post that it has been confirmed, meaning do not call a raise a red flag on the deal? If you don't want to send in all three rebates, fine, send in two yourself and don't ruin it for everyone else.

Bottom of the rebate notes that you can only submit one rebate for the product.
mysterX

Did you ordered and received and email with all 3 rebates on it? If so, you have nothing to worry about.
BTW, due to excessive and unnecessary calls, CC has changed the $60 rebate valid from 4-1-03 to 4-23-03 instead of from 4/1/03-4/30/03. I hope you print it out before the change.
once again, if you ordered and are compelled to send all three rebates, i have them printed out. i can fax them to whomever may need it.

I love these store rebate screw ups. As you read the posts - first there is jubilation. then comes doubt and then panic. The lemmings are now in the panic phase. Its funny to watch.
Listen to Myster X. Send in your three rebates - letter included, do not call them - what do you expect them to say - uh - sure, its yours for $10. Also, you will need to keep a copy of EVERYTHING. Lets hope the uproar over the US makes them bow to our wishes.

the way to get the deal is to STOP CALLING THEM.
of course they'll cancel or pull the plug is they get wind of it early. They always do. The worst they will do is cancel your order.
MORONS.
cant you just do the deal and NOT have the need to verify?
thanks a lot, IDIOTS.
Stupid dumbasses, Morons, and idiots, huh? Very kind of you....a bit 'gay' if you ask me. Calm the fu*$ down...
If the deal was presented as a "hey, there's a big pricing error, let's all see if we can get in on it before they notice," that's one thing.
This deal regardless will cost someone upfront over 160.+ dollars....F U, If I don't want to take a chance.
The price is borderline on what most people want to spend if one rebate doesn't go through. Me included, 9.99+ I'll take it, 70.00 + I won't.
You throw caution into the wind, I don't give a damn, but for me, calling first, I had to when it's hit or miss.
As for ruining it for everyone else, hardly. You think the THREE whole people who called from this board ruined for everyone you're sadly mistaken. Again, to reiterate, when I called them first thing this morning, the dude already said he had a hundred calls from people, and he laughed. It had no chance from the onset.:hmm: So ease off, call down, relax.....there'll be lots more deals...maybe even legit ones.
Good find, regardless. Send all three in, and I'll wish you the best of luck. Sincerly.

This is the same as people who say "I'm just one person. My vote won't count". Every call, when added up, affected this deal. We've all seen multiple rebate deals, so this shouldn't be something new. MysterX isn't new to deals, and he knows what he's talking about. I'm with him! :D

Maybe Mysterx should let the rest of us in on his secret for making a company pay 2 rebates to one person when each one is sent to a different address and each say ORIGIONAL UPC code and LIMIT ONE PER PERSON/HOUSEHOLD etc... Those of us who know how to read and understand English found a problem and wanted to clear it up BEFORE finding out we're paying $60.00 MORE than we bargained for. The item can't be returned for a refund without the upc so those of us who follow directions wanted clarification. Misterx, let us in on how it's done and we won't have to call. You evaded the real question which is how does one go about fulfilling the requirements so all rebates are honored? I do a lot of rebating and when the say ORIGIONAL upc they mean ORIGIONAL not copy! They send a letter back to you stating that they want the origional - then what do you do - eat the one rebate? I'm not about to do that. I'd rather be safe than sorry! I'd like to hear from anyone who does send in all 3 rebates - 1 $10.00 CC and WD $60 and $80. Did Misterx's suggestion work or not? The answers will help those of us next time we find a deal, that is too good to be true, choose to keep our mouths shut and go with the deal AS STATED if all 3 rebates (well two that are in question) are honored or if we made the right decision by checking into the deal before comitting our hard earned money to a mistake!

Yeah, you guys that called are definitely morons. As for the "whole 3 people that called" keep in mind that for everyone posting here there are about 300 lurkers that say, "hey that freaking retard called! So will I!".
So, no stay ramped up Chosenfool and continue to crap on the retards, morons, and idiots that screw up these deals time after time.
If possibly paying $70 for a drive is too much for you DON'T BUY IT! You're gonna be out $170 for at least a few months anyway, so you're obviously not that hurtin' for cash.

Put a little note in there saying that you accidentally sent it in with the $10 CircuitCity rebate which you didn't realize doesn't require the original. :)
Just a though Tweet!

Wrong...I was on the the second mysterX posted the deal. There were 7-10 people MAX on the Got Deals forum when he posted it.
Were there 300 hundred luckers, not registered, who don't show up on the "Users Browsing this Forum" at the top of the page? That just so happeneed to be sitting there at the time this went down? And each one of the "retards and idiots" watched this particular thread and all called at the same time? I think not. Where else was this deal posted? 5 other web pages? Other Forums? WHo else could have called I wonder?
We can argue non stop man, my point is, 3 people who called this morning didn't ruin this awsome deal. Shame that it is. No chance of it. MysterX knew himself the rebates would disapear, he warned us.
I resent being called a moron and a retard for being careful. When did the tone of this place change so drastically? If I would have ordered 15 of an item on an awsome deal, that's callous and misguided, greedy too. That might warrant a name to be thrown around. That happens all the time...but this? Lighten up. Get over it. I have all three rebates printed out, so does lilbigblue. People can still try with no more of a disadvantage then when the first one was bought this morning.
But enough with the name calling, please . . .

Guess what? GotApex isn't the only deals forum on the Web! If I remember correctly, techbargains had already posted this deal at least an hour before it was posted here. So there were plenty of other shoppers who had made this purchase before we even had a chance to complete it.
As a matter of fact, I tried to get in on the deal about five or ten minutes after mysterX posted it and it was sold out in EVERY store within 50 miles of where I live.

I've only seen one "Thanks" to MysterX for posting the deal, but a bunch of **** that has been tossed his way also. When it comes to members posting deals here on G|A, few compare to him.
As for this deal, it is a shame that this deal is ruined. Nothing can be done about it now! For those who have already purchased, good luck with it! Hope you have everything printed out, and perhaps a printout of their mistake too.
As for the frustration people have displayed, I wouldn't blame them! I'd be also, had I just missed out on one of the sweetest deals ever!
For future reference, if in doubt about a deal, DO NOT CALL THEM ABOUT IT. There are many people here that are quite knowledgeable when it comes to deals. You've got questions? Many of us can probably answer it for you.
So it's DONE now. Thanks MysterX for posting such a great deal! As always (if it hasn't been apparent), your time and effort are appreciated! :)

Techbargains.com claims that Circuit City will honor the $60 Rebate. I don't know if that means they will honor it combined with the other rebates or not. Go to http://www.techbargains.com for more info.
