It's true women can fake orgasms... but men can fake whole relationships.

ok, question: have you ever "faked" a relationship and for what reason?

Of course I've faked relationships. Hasn't everyone? And why you ask...you don't discard the booty you have until there is a replacement in hand.

i don't think men "fake" relationships. it's just that we don't understand what women want (despite watching the mel gibson movie, i'm still not too clear). but our ego gets in the way of asking you what you want. so we just "fake" knowing what we're doing.

Even if you ask, women won't say what they really want cause even they don't know.

My take is that most men and most women are just lookin' for different things from a "relationship"... hence it feeling "fake" if they aren't in it for the same reasons.

Wow, very deep.

Yes, I faked the whole darn relationship with an ex. I know this thing was doomed from the start but she was *so* hot, as in supermodel material.

It was loads of fun while it lasted but eventually I realized that looks and awesome sex were no substitute for true love. Ah well, we all get wiser all the time, right?

faking relationship = free sex.

How does one "fake" a relationship? I think DF's explanation may be deeper than some think.

this is a very, very good point.

and, i believe it points to the reason why these arguments occur between men and women. when women say the word "relationship", they have a definition that they're implying. when men hear the same word, they have entirely different impressions.

but zen's right, you can't "fake" a relationship. the problem arises when women want one kind of relationship and men want another. and then, men can "fake" some aspects of the kind of relationships women want in order to get what they want.

I'm not going to argue that men don't fake relationships. Of course we do. We do it for sex or a $20 bet... but... girls fake relationships also. They just tend to do it for stability, and money. Same game, just different stakes.
