This one should be obvious, but Small business Dell, and Home...are they different?
Because I'm just wondering the Coupon Code on the deals page, does it work also for Home?
Should I buy a product that is from HOME?
cause i just went by a msg board ...seems.. like dell homes is..pretty....bad, or atleast the customer service people
and most importantly of all!!!!!
Can any of you guys hook me up with coupons for Dell Home?
----of course i still need the above 2 questions answered...:P
thanks guys.....just kinda stun by what was said on that message board, and most of the deals on apex are small business...just got me thinking thats all

Nope DellHome and DellSB are seperate so you can't use DellSB coupon codes on DellHome system. Products on sale there are the same quality and you have to pay tax with DellSB.

Also, prices are often higher in the Home area than SB. This is usually because the configuration options aren't as flexible and they are probably compensating for no tax in Home.

thanx ^^
but quick question, dell home, honestly.. good or bad on service ?
My only experience with them has been good. During DellHome's latest 15% S&P sale, I had a 10% coupon I wanted to use. It wouldn't stack with the 15% off, so I called and they applied it manually.
Estimated arrival date was April 28 (next Monday), but on Wednesday I received an email stating that because of a delay in their production cycle (odd, since it was a Viewsonic monitor) my order would not ship until May 2. The next day (April 24, yesterday), the monitor arrived via UPS.
So, things don't always go as planned there. I can easily see this being a problem for some people, but luckily it worked to my advantage. The CS Dept. seemed helpful through the whole process.

DOA, as far as I'm concerned, usually means "dead on arrival".
As for their customer service, you get the good and the bad -- the same with any company. I've purchased quite a bit from Dell in the past year, I'd go with it.

Dell production must be REALLY hurting these days. I took advantage of a recent sale and placed an order. Thirty-six hours later, the UPS guy dropped it off at my house.
That's 36 hours to process the order, build the system, ship it, and for UPS to deliver it from TX to GA.

Yeah, I ordered 2 Dimension 2350 systems on Thursday and both shipped on Friday before I could cancel them and get the better 4550 deal that they had. I talked to one of their people on the phone Thursday and he said all the specials are because it is near the end of the quarter for them. I think Dell and HP are in a race to have the highest postings in this quarter.

Does anyone know what the radeon 9700 TX is? Is this just a regular radeon 9700? Is it worth adding $140?

The R9700 TX is a regular R9700 (non-Pro) and it's worth the $140 upgrade. I don't think you could buy a R9700 for $140 anywhere.

Dang!! They made me wait 3 weeks. I was pissed. They finally sent me a card saying it would be delayed and if I wanted to cancel... blah blah blah... Then the thing came in the next day.
Their web site almost never has the correct status on it!!!

I had to wait almost 2 weeks (production + shipping) for my 4550. So far I am happy with the computer even though I ripped the hard drive and CD-ROM drive out for bigger (faster) hard drive and DVD-RW drive.

That's to funny. I also ripped my hard drives out (two 80gb) and put my raid in.

I ordered two Latitude D800's back on the 23rd of April. Because of the widescreen and some other parts, they said both would not ship until the 8th of May, around the 12th arrive. Checked my status today, April 28th and it said they were "In Transit" to the carrier and should be here within 2 days. (2 day air). Dell is great. I know they have issues every so often, but you can't beat the SB department. I will be able to take my laptop over to Taiwan for a new job and it will still be totally covered w/Complete Care the whole time I am there. My Dell experience has been a good one.

Dell is weird about their shipping. I think to date, they've used every national carrier i can think of. USPS, UPS, FedEx, AirBorne, they've all been used when Dell sends packages to me.
I find it also depends on where they ship it from. One night (5:00pm) I placed an order for my 21" Monitor and the next day it arrived. Computers? Anywhere from 3 days to 1 week.
Dell is anything but predictable. ;-)

This is a site question. I used a dell small business when I ordered my desktop computer and there was also a rebate on the computer for $100. I have sent in all the information already. But I realized when looking at the rebate now that it says maybe not be conbined with any other dell small business rebate or discount. This is printed on all of the dell rebates that I have seen for both desktops and laptops. I know lots of people have used coupon codes and rebates togeather in the past and I was just wondering if people are getting there rebates?
Thanks,
Zentor

I got the 600SC that was supposed to come with a $100 rebate. Dell canceled my order by accident and they placed it again but after the $100 rebate deadline. It took multiple emails to them about the rebate error, they said I would be emailed a special rebate form. Communication was maybe medium, not terrible, but definitely not great. Anyway, while I was waiting for the special rebate form, I got a $100 check in the mail last week, they skipped the rebate and gave me a $100 refund. It was a happy ending but more effort than I expected.
