so how many times do you hit the snooze button on your alarm clock on an average week day?

I don't need an alarm clock. My internal clock wakes me up on time. Gets annoying at times especially when I wake up 20 minutes before I want to. Its a long enough time to fel cheated out of sleep, but not enough time to go back to sleep.

I don't hit it when I wake my husband up at 2, and I don't need an alarm when I wake up at 6:30.

sometimes it takes me 2 hours before i finally turn it off instead of hitting the snooze button again...

and then, i go back to sleep, and am late for work.

I bought an alarm that let's you set it to go off at 2 separate times. the first one breaks me out of the deep sleep and the 2nd one tells me I *have* to get up now.

I have 4 alarms strategically placed in my room...

or perhaps not so strategically placed....

I don't even have an alarm clock. Somehow I always seem to wake up when I need to. I don't really understand it but it works for me. If for whatever reason I need to get up at an unusual time I'll set my Palm Pilot t wake me, but I usually still wake before it is needed. I guess I'll get to sleep in when I'm dead.

my snooze button is set to go off every 9 minutes (why 9 and not 10? i'll never know), and unless i turn it off, it will continue to go off every 9 minutes forever.

having said that, i once snoozed for 7 hours straight, hitting the button every 9 minutes from 8am to 3pm... thank you, thank you. :D

oh please, try doing that with the snooze set to 7 minutes. I sorta did that. after about two hours though, i just didn't wake to the alarm clock (at least i think it was two hours).

My g/f put the stupid clock next to her head so she hits it as soon as it goes off (every 7 minutes) It's set for 5:30 and she usually gets up at 6:00. I don't wake up until i hear the shower.

I think most bedside-style alarm clocks have a 9-minute snooze. No idea why not 10. Maybe it's to make it harder for you to calculate how many times you can press it before you REALLY have to get up. :hmm:

BTW, I concur with Grimm's "hero" assessment. :P Your's was truly a great, great post.

My snooze (why do some call it "Snooz"?) setting on my GE Alarm clock is once every 7 minutes. I did it from 7:53 (I set my alarm that way) - to about 12:30 or so once. But, now...i have a new goal and standard to reach.

I can honestly say that I didnt even know what the heck a snooze button was until I met my fiance. I always got up when my alarm went off or just turned it off, because if I am going back into bed I dont want to get up again. Unfortunately, my fiance thinks that hitting the snooze button stops time and she can hit it indefinitely until she is awake. Plus she can sleep through it forever...so I end up having to hit the snooze button for her.

I used to do that too! After a while my hand would just pop up and hit the snooze button so that it only buzzed once. My roommate would get pretty P.O.'d. :(

On my Sony alarm clock, which I have had for 13 years, it is called a "dream button". I usually hit it and dream that I could sleep in till noon everyday. :D
