Is it really that strange for a person to be fascinated about another culture? Or do you label them as a weirdo or freak?

No, it's not really strange... but that doesn't stop me from labeling them as a weirdo or freak.

I does get kind of weird if the person is too fascinated. Like to the point where they renounce their own culture and try to join some other one. I don't think you find that often but it happens.

On a sidenote, when people are interested in other cultures as a novelty, it annoys me. Like how some natural food stores advertise ancient Chinese herbs in their diet pill. There's just something about modern society that seems to think it can take culture, bottle it,and sell it like a commodity.

It's not strange but I don't really like it when people try to BECOME part of that culture. I think it's ok to admire it and study it and learn about it. But if yo'ure not black, you're not black. If you're not asian, you're not asian and if you're not mexican you're just not mexican.

:hmm: that doesn't mean anything unless they are specifically trying to make only asian friends; it could just be coincidence that they have lots of asian friends.

I never said that ALL white people that have lots of asian fiends are trying to be part of a culture they're not. You asked for an example of who and I gave one, I didn't mean it to be a blanket statement.
