Sylvania 18" LCD Flat Panel

Has anyone heard any reviews on this. I am thinking about getting one.

It has 1280x1024 @ 75 Hz, a contrast ratio of 400:1, and 0.264mm dot pitch for just around $500.00.

As far as my other thread about the computer problem, I haven't really spent that much time with the whole thing. I've kind of given up.

Hey, does contrast ratio really matter much? I was thinking about getting this (http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProduct.asp?description=24-163-113&depa=1) monitor this summer. It has a 500:1 contrast ratio and is 19". $579. Since this is my primary monitor and will probably last me many years I don't want to skimp on the monitor side.

I have no idea about contrast ratio. I would assume higher is better but don't know for sure. Is that a pretty good monitor? It's a deal seeing as how i'm forking out 500 for an 18.
