looking for suggestions on wireless internet access. ALL options, like mobil ip etc. need 56k or better if possible. we have a guy that's very mobil and can't always connect to a phone line.
we're east coast near philly, so riccochet's out :(

Well there is that gprs network. If you have a mobile carrier like AT&T or T-Mobile and a gprs phone you can access the net that way. But its pricey as hell since they charge by how much bandwith you consume. . . bastards. Reallyl tempted to subscribe to it though . . . with my bluetooth phone and 12" powerbook would be nice to get wireless net access anywhere gprs is on.

Good luck - let me know if you find anything. We've tried a few different options, and the best bandwidth we're able to get is about 12-15k on the 'up to 56k' plan (I think it was from Sprint). Plus yeah, it's pricy as hell... I'm kind of disappointed that no one's gotten this working poperly yet.

ew - looks like we're gonna try sprint - they have a wireless web device with 60-144k for $120/month :eek:
hey it's a biz expense....i'm not paying for it......
i'll let you know how it works.....

Ah yes - that's the one we evaluated. We never got anywhere near the advertised speed... let me know how it works for you!
