ASUS P4PE is pretty good but it doesn't have AGP 8x. If you are looking for ASUS motherboard advice, go to www.asusboards.com

If you do end up with ASUS P4PE, be sure to update to the latest BIOS 1.03 version.

do any of you know when the prices for the asus mobos are going to drop? I heard it will be really soon because of the new 800FBS boards.

well i'm willing to wait 2 months are so and I'll get one. Right now I have a mind set on Asus P4C800 Deluxe or Asus P4G8X Deluxe if not one of those than its most likely going to be Asus P4PE i845PE

i might wait less than 2 months. maybe a month in a half or something.

1. Revise code for clock generator fix AGP/PCI=66/33 frequency issue.
2. Support CPU PSB 800Mhz
3. Modify clock M/N value for FSB=200Mhz*4

But you are right, don't update unless there is something wrong with the current one. And I do have some problem with 1002 and various 1003 beta, namely cold boot. In some 1003 beta, they fixed some other bugs but I'm not sure why ASUS does not list them at the final 1003.

isn't the P4C800 a overclocking motherboard?

does anyone know if the P4C800 Deluxe or P4G8X Deluxe supports the radeon 9500/9700 series. I have read many reviews about it and most reviewers say its not compatible

How do they say it is incompatible?

I had the 9700pro working on the P4G8X I reviewed for gotapex, I ran it for a long time. It now resides in Darths box.

I would have to say that if you want a good P4 board without spending too much to go with the P4PE. Its cheaper than the P4G8X and it runs just a tad slower.
