i read in a thread here that it can burn a cdr that can hold up to 1gig space.....how? if its true, i'm returning this 48x i bought last week:woo:

Tommy Boomfiger was telling me that there's also one that is capable of storing upto 1.4gb on regular CD-Rs. Either way, I'm still gonna wait until DVD writers improve on speed, and get cheaper too.

I remember Sony had come out with a DD-CDR (Double-Density CDR) at one time, but I think only one drive supported it, so the idea was scrapped.

Plextor's idea sounds neat, but I'm fairly sure only Plextor drives will be able to read it.

Man.... that's sweet. But can normal CD-ROM read the 1GB stuffs off the media or the reader has to be Plextor?
