My professor gave me an assignment to write a "personal business plan". Has any of ya written one that can give me some insight into how to write one? Fortunately, I only have to write about 3-5 pages. But I don't know where to start! TIA!

A personal busienss plan? Is this a plan that outlines your personal financial goals and how to obtain them? Or is it something that is being created for a fictitious business?

The professor was rather vague on that point. I'm assuming its referring to life and goals after college, milestones, and indicators/measures of success. I suppose it can be focused on the personal financial goals. Probably not your latter answer, developing an actual business plan.

i think these are also called mission statements. if e's talking about business plans.....
if you go to any major corporation, there should be a page with their "mission" on it.

Try here (http://www.bplans.com/sp/index.cfm?a=bc#) - there's a few sample plans you can view for free. Here's (http://www.users.cloud9.net/~kvivian/html/business_plans_.html) a short tutorial.
A business plan isn't a mission statement, it's much more involved.

This is for my business communication class, where they teach us how to write business letters, resumes, memos, and suchforth. Though it is a business communication class, I think she wanted us to write this about ourselves rather than a typical business plan to start a company. So I believe that would include strengths, weaknesses, how to market myself, goals.. But I can be wrong :(
Thanks for the links, I'll take a look around those sites. :)

not sure if you're interested in this, but a book recommendation is 7 habits for highly effective people by stephen covey. it's a good book to read in general, but you can go over the personal statement part.
