Online sports gaming

Have any of you played sports games online against others? I'm talking about Madden or NFL2K3 or others like that.

Are they fun to play?

The reason is that EA only has online play for the PS2, which means if I want to play my sports games online, I have to buy them for the PS2, which completely destroys my theories about sports gaming and consoles. Should I breakdown and flipflop?

umm ive played 2k3 on X-box live...its interesting....
you get to play with real players rather than the computer...
its only useful if you have no friends..hahaha
the great thing with the xbox is that if you have 4 friends..you can go online and challenge another group of 4 ppl...so thats basically 8 different ppl with different playing styles.

i've played highheat baseball online with my friend. it's cool. i've never tried other sports though.... but i like to control a team all by myself so there wont be a chao !!
