Nintendo to Bundle GBA Player With GameCube

Starting in June, consumers can purchase a GameCube-Game Boy Player bundle.

Nintendo has announced that it will start selling a GameCube bundle that comes packed with the Game Boy Advance Player, which lets users play Game Boy Advance games on a TV. The bundle will hit retail outlets on June 23 in North America and will sell for $149.99.

"This offer builds on the incredible momentum generated by our Game Boy Advance line, which has already sold 35 million systems worldwide," said Peter MacDougall, executive vice president of sales and marketing for Nintendo of America. "Once we saw the enthusiastic reception given to the debut of Game Boy Player here on the show floor at the E3 trade show, it was an easy decision to move ahead with our plans to combine these two products."

I wonder how the GBA games will turn out on tv. Heavily pixelated maybe.

I remember the Super Game Boy... plugging it into your SNES and plopping a GB game in. It actually didn't look that bad! Hopefully technology has improved, may be safe to assume ;)

planetgamecube has a decent review (http://planetgamecube.com/reviews.cfm?action=hwprofile&id=324) of the GameBoy Player. They give it a 9/10 and say that the picture is crystal clear - very similar to an SNES game.

Though I love GBA, I don't want to spend $150 to get the bundle. :(

The Stealth Link, made by Triton Labs, maker of the Afterburner.

If they made a wireless link from the GBA to GC it would rock!
