a question about taxi cabs...

i was wondering...if you're in a cab, and the driver gets into an accident...can you just leave the cab? cause if my cabby gets in to an accident, i'm just gonna get out and find another cabby.

this is cause today i was sitting in traffic and this cabby had a fender bender right in front of me and the passenger just stayed in the car while the drivers argued....kinda entertaining from my point of view really.

that's what i'm saying...am i allowed to leave? do i still get to pay for his crappy driving? what if i have a plane or meeting to attend? do i still have to what for the cops for a police report?

it is best to be a witness, but if you are in a really freakin hurry, just leave your name to both participants for them to give to cops or say you didnt see anything at all and leave.

I'd give my name and a phone number to both parties that were involved in the incident and I would bolt. I don't mind being a witness but I need to get some $hit done. Now if there was someone hurt (I know this wasn't happened with you) I wouldn't leave, I would help them. Just my 2 cents.

'Sides, I think it's only illegal to leave an accident scene if you were one of the vehicle operators.

Is it morally right IMO to leave, heck no.

Would I do it... probably, if I was in a hurry.
