I’m surprised that nobody posted this earlier. I just went to OfficeMax and they still had a bunch of the sound cards left and a few of the CD-RW’s. Late in the week this is pretty unusual. The CD-RW is not listed on their web site, so it may be a B&M thing or sold out on-line.

Mad Dog MultiMedia Prowler 4.1 DSP Sound Card (http://www.officemax.com/max/solutions/product/prodBlock.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=yes&expansionOID=-536879914&prodBlockOID=537079875)
Reg: $29.99, Sale $14.99 – 15 MIR = FREE (SKU # 20330009)

Khypermedia 52x24x52 Internal CD-RW Drive
Reg: $99.99, Sale $74.99 – 20 MIR – 35 MIR = $19.99 (SKU# 20326452)
Other forums report these are made by varying manufacturers. Some are getting rebadged Aopen, some Lite-on, etc.

You’ll have to reach “check-out” just before placing an order to find out.

OM offers free shipping on orders over $50. An alternative plan might be to: 1) Add some of the free-after-rebate items listed on the last page of the ad to get your total over $50. You can’t imagine how many “free” Winmodems I have; 2) Add a couple of cheap useful items e.g. the Belkin flash drive on Page 2 ($29.99 up-front, 9.99 after rebate) or envelopes, etc.; 3) Call locally and add the CD-RW (if interested in this item). Your local OM should offer free delivery on orders over $50. 4) Or you could possibly call your local OM with a credit card and arrange for in-store pick-up of the sound card at your convenience.

The people at this forum are experts at “working the deal”. Best of luck.

Has anyone had any experience with this company's rebates? I bought one of the soundcards at the B&M, and the rebate requires you to register the product online, then wait for a registration code to be emailed. I registered this past Sunday and still no email 5 days later. Also, no phone #'s listed on their website. hmmmmm.....

I finally got an email confirmation back and it turns out the "Product ID" code that you get when you register on the page is the same as the registration number that they email to you. It would be nice if they kept their terminology consistent.

I installed the soundcard yesterday, and it bluescreened my Win2k box. Go figure!
