I looked at both rebates and it looks like they are not in effect till 5/25. Anyone know any different?

I also noticed they are charging tax, which comes out to around $10. Unless there are codes for the tax exempt status. Anyone have info on this.

It came out to $160.?? - 80 in rebates so a total of $80 for the drive, which is still pretty nice, just wondering if there is anyway around the tax.

I just tried to buy the drive. Looks like it is already sold out. Good thing for me. Cause I didn't check the dates on those rebates. Thanks for the heads up.

Chances are, come Sunday, the drive will go up in price on their website.

Got the same drive from Fry's last Friday for the same price ($69.99 after $80 WD MIR). I'm going with RAID0 and see how fast these puppies could do.

Personally, on my file server machine, I am going to create a RAID 5 of at least 3 of these drives. Tired of drives failing, and I lose data. You can make software RAID arrays if the drives are on different controllers, right?
