Did anyone get one of these drives the last time around?
I got a 48x cd drive a few years back. It was unacceptably loud. It would stay loud even when I wasn't reading anything from it. I'd have to take the cd out as soon as I was done to make it stop. Since I never had a problem with slower drives, I assumed that it was common for really fast drives (>40x) to be loud.
I'd like to know if this particular drive is loud. My system makes enough noise now as it is. I don't need more.
If it's a little loud while it's burning, that's ok. If it's really loud while burning, or stays moderatly loud all the time, I'll just stick with my reliable, quiet 8x Phillips CDR-W drive.

Wow, you said the word "loud" 7 times in one post. If you read the old thread, you'd see that it does make an inspiring amount of noise.
