Imposing Thunder & Lightning.

I was woken up around 5:20 by thunder this morning. That has never happened before. It's really hard for me to sleep, but once I do, barely anything wakes me. I've been through many storms in and around kansas where I saw some of the biggest thunder & lighting storms around (not to mention hail the size of golfballs). But I've never heard such ominous lightning. Everytime lightning stikes, I hear the loudest boom of thunder (so it's quite close). It's so strange; I've never been freaked out by thunder or lightning, but this is making my hair stand on end.

It's kind of interesting though, the storm picks up after each strike. And as I was writing this, the power went out 4 or 5 times. I'm suprised how well the power system works since after 3 or 4 seconds, the power always comes back. (oh, and, I love you APC!)

Anyways, I've got nothing better to do than this. Kinda hard to sleep with such loud ominous thunder. :(

that could be a good thing.......

a few years back there was a powerful storm that went through. there was a tornado bout 2 miles from our house. i woke up and got us downstairs. my wife slept through it.....:rolleyes:

I live on top of witham hill, and it too woke me up, so I watched for a little while. I don't remember a storm like that coming through Oregon in the morning, especially one so booming.
