What songs have you had stuck in your head recently? Also, was this a good thing or a bad thing? You know, did you care if you couldn't get the song out of your head?
Me:
"Tom's Diner" by Suzanne Vega
I guess this was an OK song to have stuck in my head because I heard it on the radio a few years ago and I remembered thinking that it was pretty cool. I didn't hear it again until just a few days ago when I overheard someone saying that they had the song stuck in THEIR head. I had never been able to figure out the name of the song or the artist, so I was pleased when I heard them mention it. However, after acquiring the song, I too have it stuck in my head! :P
"Elmo Song" by, obviously, Elmo
Don't ask. It's annoying and it just won't go away.
"Don't Worry, Be Happy" by Bob Marley et al.
Not really the whole song, but mainly the refrain and the "whistling" part. When I'm working in the lab, someone will play that song on purpose because they know that it always gets stuck in my head and pisses me off! :P

hmmm... this is potentially a dangerous thread... :shifty:
i only clicked into it because i saw there were no replies, but DAMMIT if i don't have "tom's diner" stuck in my head now!
ARGH, COLESLAW!! ARGH, I SAY!!!
as for me:
"Planet Rock" by Afrika Bambaataa - just that synthesized musical part... you know, doo doo doo-doo, doo-doo doo-doo...
Goldfish jingle - "i love goldfishes cuz they're soooo delicious! goooone gold-fiiishinnnn!"
"Bandages" by Hot Hot Heat - ARGH I HATE THIS SONG!

Right now it's The Wreck of the Edmond Fitzgerald by Gordon Lightfoot. Good tune. Some of my neighbors busted out guitars at a picnic last week, and this is one of the songs they were playing. It's inspired me to download a few more tracks and consider buying this (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00005YW4N/qid=1054341602/sr=2-1/ref=sr_2_1/102-0751687-9576132) album. Got a gift card from Media Play to use up.

that "we all live in a yellow submarine" song by the beatles, but just take the "yellow submarine" part and put it on repeat. it's been doing that since the early 80's....

Well if it's a disease, then you've infected me. There's so many DDR songs I can never seem to get out of my head....
Sakura
Legend of Max (help me now)
happy wedding
colors
..and way too many to list.
Of course, today I was listening to the new Dancemania SPEED G disc, and there's a few catchy tunes there.

I have really bad tinnitus, so I make sure that I have a song floating in my head at night. It's the only way I can fall asleep. If I had to listen to the constant ringing, I would go nuts.
afaik, "don't worry, be happy" was by bobby mcferrin.
but anyways, at the moment i have "landslide" by stevie nicks. actually for the past 3 or 4 days. it's not necessarily bad tho, considering there's a good chance i have a song stuck in my head at any given time, and it's sometimes a pretty bad one :P

Yeah, but the Marley version is the one that I have stuck in my head. The whistling part may be from McFerrin's original, but the lyrics are definitely being sung by Marley. That's what I meant by "et al", man! :bandit:

Recently:
In Deep - Last Night a DJ Saved my Life
The reason why that song is stuck in my head is coz its on the radio in Vice City ;)
Now, I have this one song stuck in my head, but I don't know the name of the tune. If any of you G|A'ers out there have seen the DJ documentary "Scratch," its the song that DJ ZTrip demontrates (its on the bonus disc of the DVD).
btw, I saw ZTrip, GrandWizard Theodore and MixMaster Mike in concert the other night. It was freakin' unbelievable! :thumb:

EEEEEK! Now I've got the most crazy, "happy" hardcore track stuck in my head. Must stop listening to these crazy Dancemania Speed discs.
Granted, when I woke up, I couldn't get Unwell (Matchbox 20) out of my head -- that was way better than now.
Unwell by Matchbox 20 has been in my head for this past week... stupid relationship drama ;) But rest assured, I'm not crazy. I'm just a little unwell :heh:

just a bit of trivia for you: that part of the song was taken from the song Transeuro Express by german avantgarde techno artists Kraftwerk. Supposedly, that melody was taken from some classical piece of music (a Grieg concerto or something like that)
(i took a history of techno music class. :D )

If my mind was a radio station, this is some of what you'd hear:
Deuce, deuce revolver was my problem solver
Had a def girl, really didn't wanna involve her
In the life of a gangster, use to rob bankster
But now I'm locked up,I'm just a punk low rankster
Jail cells know me too damn well
Seems like I've built on earth my own personal hell
No matter how high I climbed, somehow I always fell
I guess a lot of players got this story to tell
No matter how cold you roll you simply cannot win
It's always fun in the beginning
pain in the end.
-IT
Can't keep a steady hand because I'm nervous
Every Sunday morning I'm in service
Playing for forgiveness
And trying to find an exit out of the business
I know the Lord is looking at me
But yet and still it's hard for me to feel happy
I often drift while I drive
Havin fatal thoughts of suicide
BANG and get it over with
And then I'm worry-free, but that's b---****
-GB
Old pirates yes they rob I
Sold I to the merchant ships
Minutes after they took I
From the bottomless pit
But my hand was made strong
By the hand of the Almighty
We forward in this generation
Triumphantly
All I ever had, is songs of freedom
Won't you help to sing, these songs of freedom
-BM
I Can't Remember Anything
Can't Tell If this Is True or Dream
Deep down Inside I Feel to Scream
this Terrible Silence Stops Me
Now That the War Is Through with Me
I'm Waking up I Can Not See
That There Is Not Much Left of Me
Nothing Is Real but Pain Now
Hold My Breath as I Wish for Death
Oh Please God,wake Me
-M
Walkin' tall machine gun man
They spit on me in my home land
Gloria sent me pictures of my boy
Got my pills 'gainst mosquito death
My buddy's breathin' his dyin' breath
Oh god please won't you help me make it through
Here they come to snuff the rooster
Yeah here come the rooster, yeah
You know he ain't gonna die
No, no, no ya know he ain't gonna die
-AiC
i hurt myself today
to see if i still feel
i focus on the pain
the only thing that's real
the needle tears a hole
the old familiar sting
try to kill it all away
but i remember everything
what have i become?
my sweetest friend
everyone i know
goes away in the end
you could have it all
my empire of dirt
i will let you down
i will make you hurt
-NiN
Why can't we not be sober?
I just want to start this over.
Why can't we drink forever.
I just want to start things over.
I am just a worthless liar.
I am just an imbecile.
I will only complicate you.
Trust in me and fall as well.
I will find a center in you.
I will chew it up and leave,
I will work to elevate you
just enough to bring you down.
-T
So I held my head up high hiding hate that burns inside which
only fuels there selfish pride
We're all held captive out from the sun
A sun that shines on only some
We the meek are all in one
I hear a thunder in the distance see a vision of a cross
I feel the pain that was given on that sad day of loss
A lion roars in the darkness only he holds the key
A light to free me from my burden and grant me life eternally
Should have been dead on a Sunday morning banging my head no time for
mourning ain't got no time

There's this really obscure song by Belle & Sebastian called "Get me away from here, i'm dying" that i've been humming for the past month or so. I think it's starting to make me depressed.

Nothing is stuck in my head right now..but i had Blue Man Group Up to the Roof in there for a while earlier.
Now, on a funny note...the year is 1995...the place the Mann Music Center in Philly for the first ever Honey Brown Lager Y100 Festival (What is now the Fezztival that some went to at the E-center last week)...my friends and I are pulling in to the parking lot listening to Nine Inch Nails Pretty Hate Machine I believe it was Head Like a Hole. I just told my friends that I have had this damn song stuck in my head all weak and I just keep listening to it over and over to get it out of there. So we are listening and singing along when suddenly my friend turns to me and says, what did you say. I repeated what I had just sung....and he says, Ufcrusher....those are the wrong words! Apparently I had the wrong words in my head for an entire week.

I wasn't trying to liken Pearl Jam to Linkin Park or Rush to Floyd.
