A good deal for a new Hard Drive is a Maxtor DiamondMAX + hard drive. I have seen 40.9GB models (which I have) for as little as $250. Unfortunately I cannot remember where I found this deal at. They are rated at 7200RPM and is the second fastest 7200RPM IDE drive available. Only the newer IBM's are faster.

Personally, I jumped in on the naughty staples, stacking deal. And picked up a 30 gig Dmax plus(7200 RPM) for $106 shipped http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/smile.gif.
