:D
edit: actually, lemme try to make this into a worthwhile thread. What's the most you've ever won in the State Lottery? (scratchers, lotto, powerball, etc.)

Are you 18 yet? If not I'm turning you in! :P
I won $1500 once on a 5 outta 6 state lotto quick pick. One more number and I'd be on a beach somewhere.
I seriously spend like $5/year on lottery tickets. The most I ever spent was $10 when gigger set up that lotto pool last year.

I'm happy to say that I have never and will never play the lottery because, as the saying goes, "the lottery is a tax on people that are bad at math." :P

That's not true. If you only bet when the jackpot was bigger than the odds you'd end up on top in the long run.

If I am going to gamble with my money, I'll at least go to Vegas or a casino to play some blackjack. At least there I'd have some control over the game and get some free drinks out of it too! :D
I may not have a good chance of winning millions of dollars playing blackjack, but my luck of at least getting my money is as close to 50% as you can get.

i won $100 in GA years ago.
not too long ago i hit the VA lottery numbers. all of them. exactly the way they were called, same order and everything. i was all freaking out and yelling to my wife. w00t! we're rich.
virgina does 2 drawings. 1 in the morning and another in the evening. i hit the morning numbers.
the problem was that i had a ticket for the evening drawing

Some 90-year-old guy (http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=816&ncid=816&e=1&u=//ap/20030604/ap_on_fe_st/lotto_oldest_winner) just won a $16 million jackpot. Guess what payment option he chose? ;)
Yeah, he took the lump-sum payment of $10,089,377.57 instead of the annual payments of $533,333 over 30 years. You think that was the right thing for him to do?? :heh:

I play the CA lottery sometimes. The most I have ever won on a single ticket was $1,300 when I got 4+bonus. I was 1 number away from 20M. I have had several scratchers pay off big - I have had three different $400+ tickets. All in all, I think I'm breaking even right now.

I had a small good luck streak going a little while back . . . so I figured I'd buy a couple lotto tix and bought $9 worth . . . a mix of scratch off and draws. I ended up winning $21 (a $20 scratch off and a $1 scratch off). Heck, I'll take it, that's a 133% profit.
