I have a friend that's a complete alcoholic. absolutly refuses to believe it though. not sure what to do about it though.

They always say intervention... show up at their place and get them to see how many people are affected by their problem. Get family to come, they say, even if it's a long drive for em, because it's a life-changing problem!

It's really amazing that this country is so obsessed with drugs when alcohol is rsponsible for more traffic deaths, more battered wives and husbands and all sorts of other tragedies.
I am not in favor of legalizing drugs, but some of these laws which make possession of a few ounces of marijuana a major offense really upset me.

Actually, he does more work now then before he started drinking so heavily. His personality changed for the better. The only downside is he hate drinking alone so he always tries to get one of his friends to go drinking with him.

I always think of interventions when the guy starts beating his girlfriend, not showing up for work, and his life goes downhill :shrug:

I agree about the marijuana thing, but the problems with traffic deaths, battered spouses, etc... aren't caused by alcohol. They're caused by idiots. Get rid of them, and all of the alcohol in the world wouldn't cause problems (sorry... had to defend alcohol. It makes up over half of my daily caloric intake. :P ).
