Not a deal per se...more of a question. I see plenty of these ClearMax 2000 descramblers on Fleabay for about $100...anybody have any info on these? They sound way too good to be true...but if they are in fact what they claim, then they're one heck of a deal.

That price is a good deal depending on where you live. For example were I used to be from (NYC) they sold for about $225.00. Where I live now (middle of nowhere in VA) they sell for about $150.00. So $125 direct is a good price just be careful your cable company isn't fully digital and you'll be fine.

Please stop that ethical crap. A deal is a deal so I don't think we should determine if it's ethical or not. If we are truly so ethical here then a lot of the deals shouldn't be here from the start. ie. Staples, etc.
As far as for deal, I'm curious myself. Anyone know about this descrambler?

Maybe we should just open an ethical or rather a confessional forum for those who feel guilty for taking advantage/stealing stuff.

qeg84doa,
It was mentioned in one of the previous responsesby (k28la), Satellites use H cards/H access cards to allow all DSS systems to access all chanels which is known as a test mode. There is no "generic" H card only those for specific brands and models some companies even charge to reprogram your card. Again when you use a descrambler or all Access cards, it is your responsibility to notify the cable/dss company that you are accessing their signal or you are in violation of your service agreement.
