Ripped from AT:
"Top of the line for less. Dell Small Business has the brand new Dimension 8300 Intel 875P chipset Desktop. Pentium 4-2.6Ghz/800Mhz Bus, 256MB Dual channel DDR 400 Memory/30GB 7200RPM HD, 48x CD, AGP 8x, 10/100 Ethernet, 6 months ISP, Integrated 5.1 channel audio, Free Office Small Business, XP Home $849 - auto $100 - $150 rebate = $599 shipped free.
Super high performance ATI Radeon 9800 128MB AGP video card with TVout and DVI costs only $110 more. Radeon 9800 Pro cards cost $390ish! 9800 is clocked at 325Mhz instead of the 9800 Pro's 378Mhz.
Select Desktops, Choose Dimension, Featured Systems under 8300, Customize it on cheapest, Free Upgrade 60GB HD/Select ISP - Continue, Continue, Add to cart."
Get the 9800, add another couple of 128 sticks or 2 256mg DDR400 sticks for a very nice gaming rig. Might order one for the business myself.
Has anyone configured this, Im curious if the free 60gig hd upgrade is working.

I don't see anything about a hd upgrade on the Dell site, am I missing something?
Also, anyone know if that setup has hyperthreading? The description for the processor just says
"Pentium® 4 Processor at 2.60GHz with 800MHz front side bus"
but I thought most of the 800MHz fsb procs were hyperthreaded...

all the 800mhz support Hyper threading

To those curious as to the performance of the R9800.
Keep in mind the Radeon 9700 PRO is 325mhz core/310 (620 DDR) memory. Stock R9800 Pro cards are 380/340 (680 DDR). Stock R9800 non Pro cards are, I believe, 325/310 (620 DDR). Same as the R9700 Pro. The great thing is that it's not a R9700 pro and is capable of higher speeds and better performance. PDS (AT member) says his 9800 that comes from Dell is pushing 430/380.... that's just phenomenal. YMMV
Go to Dell's small business sector and select the Dimension 4600 and customize it.
Select 2.80 GHz Intel® Pentium® 4 Processor 800 MHz w/ HT Technology
1 Year On-Site Service
Select all of the base stuff (256mb RAM, 30gig HD, no speakers, etc) and upgrade the video to 9800 and the Office to PROMOTIONAL UPGRADE! Microsoft® Office Small Business w/EducateU Special Offer.
At checkout enter the coupon code you recieved. The coupon was a promotional coupon if you are on their email list for small business. Some people got 15% off all purchases. I have one of those coupons. Others have gotten 15% off Dim 2350, but one person reported that when they used the coupon code for a 4600, it worked."
This may be better for people who can get the coupon.
Im going to see if the coupon will work with the 8300 too.
