For Staples coupons do a search on Google.com key word "Staples coupons"
Less than 50 cent a gig makes this smoking!
<edit>
Found this at FW, thanks X24!
"I purchased the 160GB Drive from Staples w/ a $10 Staples Reward Check, a $20 instant coupon off of the drive, a $30 off of $150 coupon (e-mail) and a Mail in rebate of $80. The total for me on June 8 was $60 plus tax.
However, I just called Staples to PM my previous purchase to CompUSA's $99.99 AR price and the CSR told me that she could only PM to $104. something about a coupon expiring blah blah blah. I didn't care, I was already getting this drive cheap enough since it is used as a backup drive. I now got a credit of $79 to my CC for the PM. Even if they get rid of my 30 off of 150 coupon, this still makes it $10 + tax for my 160GB Drive. HOT! This is about $0.07 a GB!"

To use a $30 coupon do you have to order online.
Which $30 coupon works?

usually if you get the manager you can get the store to take it. id call before you go and ask though. just tell them you have an online $30 off $150 via email and was wondering if you could use it instore too.

can i buy the drive now and pricematch it tomorrow to staples' price itself? Would they refund the value of the rebate they're offering too?
tonyL
06-07-2003, 02:31 PM
sachin, yes u can buy it today and get the rebate tomorrow. but why would u ask about if they r going to refund the value of the rebate to u? i dont get it. its a mir, they just do a exchange of ur drive so that the date on ur receipt is 6-8. about the coupon, yes, u can use it in store. and it only work in store anyway. cuz the coupon code that u found online is one time only. if u try to use it online, their computer will know it and it wouldnt go throu. but if u bring it to the store, the cash register wouldnt know the difference.
btw, i forgot to tell u that the easiest way to get coupon from staples is to sign up for their business reward card. its free, u get up to 3% back from your purchases, and u get coupons in ur email.
sachin tendulkar
06-07-2003, 03:50 PM
i was thinking if i buy it today and pm it tommorrow, they would just credit back the difference of the MIR...didnt know they would change dates on the receipt. Kinda wanted to get out of the rebate hassles, cos im leaving the country in 5 days and rebates are a pain in the butt as it is.

You are going to need a printout of the E-mail with the Staples coupon in order for this to work. If you try using a one-time coupon number without a legit looking printout they will call the number in to see if it has already been used.

credit the 80bucks back to u? lol, good luck with that. if u did get that money back, then u r extreme lucky and that cashier is a dumb ass. i had never heard of someone getting rebate money back from the store, except this one time the customer didnt receive his rebate and the gm approved it. about the coupon, i think the coupon code u found online probably was someone else's. so if u try to use it online, it wouldnt work. but if u print out a copy of that email, it should work in store.

What's up with this "deal"... Honestlty, we need some links to the appropriate coupons.
Really...If posters print deals without coupons, they may just as well not post them at all. That just gets people all excited about nothing.
BTW, the way things are going with the lack of coupons at Staples, they must be figuring that they are no longer worth the aggravation.

DOes staples have in-store pickup form their website?

06-08-2003, 05:05 AM
Another sweet addition to this sweet deal:
Add item number 503513 (3-Piece American Tourister Set with Umbrella) after u add the hard drive.
Then enter coupon number 96081 and coupon number 77375!
Thats $85 off your order.
Enjoy!

no, staples doesnt have in-store pickup.
johnnymk, life is not fair, so try to do some works and use google.
yusiye, did u just sign up for the staples email or the business reward card? i think u get a larger chance of receiving coupons if u sign up for the business reward card. like i said, it cost nothing, but u can get up to 3% back from ur purchases and discount in the ups shipping center. u have to pickup the application in the store tho.
sachin, have u try to use the coupon codes? i tried them and u need the 16-digits from either the business reward check or the courtesy coupon.
Coupons are non-transferable.
Coupons may only be used once and can not be used on additional orders.

Those coupons are directly tied to a business rewards number. Now, most stores will ask to see your business rewards card and match up certain numbers from your customer number to the coupon code you give them. If the numbers don't match up, or you don't have your business rewards card that proves your printout coupon is legit, then you will get rejected.

I used the $30 off 150 coupon, the girl somehow applied it twice, got the drive out the door for $127 (tax and all - and a 50 cent calendar), so after the $80 rebate it will have cost me $47, which using rough math, is about 29 cents a gig, am I right or wrong????:heh:

Anyone not receive a receipt or packing slip
with there drive? I'm gonna have a problem
trying to get my $80 rebate without one.
Maxtor didn't include 5.25" mounting brackets.
They always used to with their retail drives.

You can go to your order status page on the staples web site and print a receipt. I've had this problem before, and this was what the staples CSRs told me to do. Worked fine.
I just got one yesterday at B&M. Thanks for posting that -- my hd went kerflop last week. Cool to get the UATA card, too.

for ppl who still want to drive but the local store is out of stock, you can ask them to check with store #0545. its at howell, nj. it still got like 5 or 6 160gb drives left. u can ask ur store to do a save a sale. wat they will do is call the store and ask them to ship the drive to you, and u pay for it in ur local store. no shipping charge to u.
