Gammons is only the most respected person in baseball. Look at all the money they pay John Madden for his worthless football commentary.

Gammons is tolerable. Bill Walton, on the other hand... the man speaks like he has a mouth full of pudding. :disa:

Gammons is really great. Just stop and think for a minute just how much work it takes to be as in the loop as he is. No, it is not interns, reporters or anyone else on the phones all day long but Peter himself. Yeah, most of what he says does not come to pass but just how many trades do you think are on the table right now that will never come off. That is the problem of reporting what people are talking about doing - it may never happen. But most fans do like to hear about what their teams are trying to do even if it does not come off.

wow...amazing how everyone here likes gammons and neyer... I guess I'll rag about them somewhere else...
have you guys ACTUALLY been watching baseball tonight? He just mumbles and mumbles.. I seriously think he's come down with some kind of genetic disease in his old age. I mean, if that's true, I feel bad for the guy. but honestly....he shouldn't be talking for his living if his body doesn't let him.
and yeah, supposedly he's in the loop with the GM's.....but how come I never heard anything about Kim/Hillenbrand before that happened...the only hillenbrand news hew as giving was that the sox and mets were close with giving benitez for hillenbrand....
why? because the GM ain't gonna tell Gammons anything that's REALLY going down. they'll feed him whatever news to make him happy...

For real. Joe Morgan is a tool. I don't want to sound racist but whichever black baseball player is on top at the time is always Joe Morgan's pick for best player in teh game. First he was all abotu Ken Griffey Jr. then he switched to Barry Bonds. I don't mind people being proud of their race but the fact that he switches his favorite player every year and then claims he always liked that guy is what angers me.

I really enjoy Gammon's diamond notes and stuff for espn.com. I mean you should read half the rumors the newspapers create. Gammons is a little more accurate than the new york writers who have rumors circulating that the Yankees want to acquire Carlos Beltran or Brian Giles.

I don't think that's true I've heard him jump on other non- black player bandwagons before(Ichiro for one). Besides, both Griffey and Bonds were the best player in baseball in recent years
I always thought Gammons was pretty cool, but Valentin gets on my nerves a little bit. Every time I see him I picture him with a fake mustache glasses :hihi:
