Finally bowled over 200 game last night. I got 201 with no open frames and by getting a spare on a 9-7 split in the 5th.
So what's everyone's personal best?
My personal best was 265 or something. I've tried, but I haven't been able to come close to it again.

289. Dang that pesky 10 pin!
I throw an AMC Firehawk SuperC and an Ebonite "dragon" ball as a spare-getter.

199... with a x8- in the 10th.
Could have broken the magical 200 barrier, but I airballed that last one :chokey: :P

something like 212 or 217, I forget. But I believe it was a scoring error on one frame. I would have gotten a 190 something. But besides that, I've scored 199 numerous times. My average for a while was 145. Haven't bowled regularly in a couple years. Most games I've played in a day is 18 or so?

got my best the last time I bowled :)

that was in early March. don't bowl much, but my buddy wants to join a bowling league...
I always was in the 120's but then, last few times I went, I was getting 160's & 170's consistently...

I started out with 10 strikes in a row and then in the 10th frame, I left the 10 pin with my second ball. I picked up the spare and was left with a 289. One pin cost me my 300 game!

If you go often enough it's cheaper to invest in your own pair of bowling shoes. 30 bucks at Sports Authority.

shoes are important I agree

yup...I'm an amateur. I realize how important it is to slide just enough. If your shoes are sticky you're gonna fall on your face and break an ankle.
I had this one lane where someone dropped like chalk or some powder and I couldn't bowl worth crap. I kept on sliding and didn't stop so I had to catch myself or fall backwards and crack my skull. Not a pleasant game.

I think around 185 or so. I've never done anything but straight bowled. I always wanted to try the curve ball type thingy, but I was always afraid I would break my wrist  Do you experts think it is wise to do this without professional guidance?

I use the houseballs. I use only the two top finger holes to hook it. I really didn't get any professional guidance. Just went to the all you can bowl special and practiced until I got a feel for it. I got 184 last night and just started doing some reverse hooks with my right hand to pick up the 10 pin which does hurt my wrist.
I have a mean hook ball...sometimes it lands 2 lanes over. :)

Yep, fingertip holes are the only way to go. I get so much more power out of the ball when it stops sliding. The sound of a perfect strike from my ball sounds like a shotgun blast, but that could have something to do with the ceramic core. :hihi:
