Alladvantage is changing their payment program on September 1 to a "win a chance to win" money instead of getting paid for each hour surfed!!! And the worst part is they are being VERY SNEAKY about it! They invite you to "enroll in their sweepstakes program", but by doing so you GIVE UP your money earned by surfing!!!

Heres the relevant language in their HUGE AND CONFUSING new Terms of Service:

AllAdvantage.com currently has two primary rewards options. One option is the WIN ON THE WEB Sweepstakes (the "Sweepstakes") where you can win prizes. The other option (the "Alternative Rewards Program") allows you to earn money.

MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT SIGNUP FOR THE SWEEPSTAKES AS YOU WILL LOSE YOUR MONEY!! stay in the Alternative Rewards Program!" Alladvantage is dying!!!

They are making all accounts default to the sweepstakes. You have to log into your all advantage account, and click the Alternative Rewards Program button to switch back

Where is the alternative rewards location? I cannot find where you can switch back http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/frown.gif

when you login they give you a choice the sweepstakes or the alternative rewards program. Pick the rewards, unless you want a chance at 50,000 (or 50 percent of that) .. cause I'm sure that a lot of people will get that ... really ....

All Advantage is already dead. They have not paid me for the past couple of months checks. I wrote them an e mail asking them what is going on and they gave me some generic answer to a question I didn't even ask. I think it is time to find a new way to earn money on the web.

I agree - they are dying a slow death. I just received an e-mail from them threatening to charge me $2.00 a month for NOT using their service. Can u believe that? I wrote them and cancelled my account. Al I got in return was a senseless off-topic response. Good riddance to them.

I got the same email, how do you cancel your account? I emailed back and asked them to cancel my account but they still haven't replied.

Dear xxxx,

On September 1, AllAdvantage will roll out a great new rewards program -- the Win On the Web Sweepstakes – and it’s EASY TO WIN!

JACKPOTS TOTAL A DAILY MINIMUM OF $50,000 (US Dollars)
One daily Grand Prize giveaway of $25,000 (50% of the Jackpot)
Up to five daily Referrer Prizes of $5,000 each (10% of the Jackpot)
WANT TO WIN MORE?
For every three minutes you surf with your Viewbar you earn an entry into that day’s Grand Prize drawing (up to five entries per day.)

Increase your chances of winning by referring new and existing referrals to the Sweepstakes program – if they win, YOU WIN THE $5,000 REFERRER PRIZE! Drawings are held daily, so the more referrals you have in Sweepstakes and the more days you surf with your Viewbar, the better your chances of winning!

ENROLL NOW – IT’S EASY!
Choose Sweepstakes by logging into your AllAdvantage account at https://www.alladvantage.com/cashsecure.asp and selecting "I want to enroll in the AllAdvantage Sweepstakes program."

If you don’t make your rewards selection by September 1, we’ll automatically enroll you in the Sweepstakes so you can try it out. (You can switch between Sweepstakes and the alternative rewards program on a monthly basis.)

Here’s to your chance to Win On the Web!

Jim Jorgensen
CEO, AllAdvantage

P.S. Please note, if you enroll in the Sweepstakes, you will not earn personal, monthly surfing income (currently a maximum of $7.95 in the US; rates and hours are subject to change monthly). For the Sweepstakes Official Rules and further details, visit http://www.alladvantage.com/sweeps/home.asp

that's the email people may/may not have received. man! sounds like we have a chance to win right!? (for those who missed it, that was sarcasm) http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif

the rates have not dropped, the max amount of time payable have. now the max amount per person per month is only $7 and some cents. yeah!

I received a similar "account maintenence fee" email from them. Here is what I sent in return:

Charging me for something I'm not using is ridiculous. There is no account maintenance involved anyway. It's all done by computers based on work you've already done, so you're not actually spending time looking at my numbers. In any event, you've offended me. Cancel my account immediately.

Hello1

An interesting note, I just received a $33 check from them today, so they haven't yet pulled the plug. I think I have one more check i'm waiting for.

Well.... I'm not staying with Alladvantage. Is there any other well-paid web surfing program to join?

Here's how you're supposed to cancel, guys. Quoted from the AllAdvantage site:

Cancelling accounts

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Cancelling your account means you forfeit any referrals or earnings you have accumulated. Should you choose to rejoin, you will not be able to recover your previous account balance or referrals.

If you still wish to relinquish your membership, you're welcome to do so. Please access http://www.alladvantage.com/quit.asp for immediate cancellation.

Please note: Cancelling your account does not remove the Viewbar from your system. You must still uninstall the program.

IF you read the fine print, they will charge you money, but they wil only deduct the money from your account. If you don't have any money in your account, There will not be a maintenance fee deducted.

I cancelled my account because of the possible fee and that they haven't responded to my emails regarding the checks they haven't sent for three months.

I had a check from them returned. So not only did I not get that money, but I got charged a $5 returned check fee. I have this feeling that was the last check I'm going to see. They still have a lock on my account while they research the accounts beneath me for fraudulent use. Stupid I tell you.

Charging you for something you don't use, that's crazy! Almost as bad as long distance companies! http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/smile.gif

I stopped using alladvantage as soon as they dropped their max hours. Some magazine did some research and stated that alladvantage only had about enough money to pay all the cash it owed to people. Maybe the next thing they will do is tell you they are going to give you one ticket in a lottery for each dollar they owe you for a $100,000 prize. Haha, that would go over really well.

Well add me to the list of screwed-by-aa people.. My dad signed up for it, I signed up under him, and both of us got referrals from different sources, yet AllAdvantage put both accounts on hold, then suspended mine, then cancelled mine today, and my dad's account is still on hold!!!

I lost $80+ in my account! and it was all legit! I worked hard for my referrals!! ugh

My dad has about $120 in his account and they still have it on hold, so he'll probably NEVER see that money.

Also, on another note, my friend just had the same thing happen on PayPlace... he had signed up for it and put $400 in his account, then had his dad signup for it so he could pay his dad (they live 3 states away from each other), but since they both had the same name, PayPlace automatically cancelled his account with $400 in it! And he called them up and they said there was nothing they could do, and they will refund him the money IN 45 DAYS!!! What the hell is going on with these online companies.. they are doing this to prevent cheaters, yet all they end up doing is screwing over their CUSTOMERS!!

ugh makes me want to go back to stone tablets.. at least then you could whack them on their head if they pissed you off!
