I think you might be surprised at the number of quality couples out there that are made up of people who met at the office. Personally, I'd avoid anyone in your department or that you have to deal with on a daily basis. But the little hottie over in marketing? Well, she's fair game.

I'd say as long as you focus on what you really like about one of these girls (if you get to know them well enough to determine whether you do), go for it. That way you're not just dating girls at work just to go on dates, where you're more interested in having that dating feeling than your feelings for the actual person... I know having that reasoning causes problems lots of times!

well....if it helps....wife and i work in the same office. we have different jobs, we were married before we worked together....

however there are 2 or 3 other couples that are married, that "met" here at work.....

good points. if it's someone that you are actually interested in because of their personality and feel it could be long-term, go for it. you can always get another job, but available hotties are a different matter. :D

My current g/f and I met at the job. She works in a different department, and we only see each other at lunch. Other than that we have to go out of our ways to see each other, and then we have to treat each other professionally.

i disagree with this line of reasoning. i mean, think about how many great, nice guys are out there who just haven't found "the one" yet because the nice, cute girls are busy dating losers.

the same can apply to women. sure, it's possible that there's some "fatal flaw", but maybe they just dated some jerks.

as for dating at work, i have no problem with it as long as you're discrete, you aren't dating a supervisor or someone you supervise, and you are not going to see your job performance negatively impacted by the relationship.

chosen, if you are confused about what you want, just don't worry/say anything about it. And if she confronts you with it, just tell her the truth, that you're just having fun and enjoying your time with her. I think that, when the time is right, you'll be able to make a decision about what you really want from her.

ok, the important part of this thread is the pearl jam concert :D

sounds like you had great seats, and looking at the setlists, it looks like they played a kick-ass set. i'm just bumming now because i don't think i'm going to be able to see any more shows this year, unless they make up the cincy date that got flooded out.

one piece of advice: if a woman likes pj, she's definitely worth keeping around. it worked for me, at least ;)
